Tawananyasha has helped some communities to built small scale dairy processing centers where they process milk produced by small scale farmers. Small scale dairy farmers often do not meet the minimum quantities required by large dairy processing centers to warrant the transportation of their milk. Having local centers ensures that milk from farmers is delivered before it goes bad. Local processing centers cut transportation cost and increases the profit margin for farmers. Products from these centers are often cheap and can be affordable for the local people who have limited financial resources. The production of diverse products increases food security in rural areas. The products that are produced at communal dairy centers, include sour milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, yogi drinks, ice cream and other products.
