Mission and Vision

Tawananyasha is a non governmental not for profit organization that seeks to build the capacity of marginalized members of the society through different programs that increase the disposable income to those who would not manage without support from others.  The Organization is member owned and the majority of members are women heads of families and their children.  The organization started in 1997 when women in a  Mutoko rural area who could not raise money to feed their families decided to put together the little money they had and gave it to one of them to start a small project. They kept mobilizing resources and they ended up with a revolving micro-credit fund that enabled each one of them to borrow money and invest in micro-enterprise activities. The success of these women led to the formation of Tawananyasha Mother and Child Association. Members are involved in projects such as dairy farming, small livestock production, food processing, home based care, nutrition, education, food security and child support services.
